Tips on mantaining low boiler steam flow rate.

For eg: boiler capasity are 35mt/hr, and mill capacity are 60mt/hr.

First we need to know total potantial fuel (fibre and shell) with 60mt of FFB per hour.

Fibre to FFB - 14%
Shell to FFB - 5%

We need to calculate steam fual balance to know minimum mill throughput required to mantan excess of boiler fuel.

Then  asume boiler effeciency are 70%.
35mt/hr X 0.70= 24.5 mt/hr.

Which means we need to mantain steam flow at 24.5 and we will have more excess fuel for boiler operation during non processing hours.

Below are some tips on mantaining boiler steam flow.

1. BPV safety valve shall be set higher than sterelizer surplas valve.

2. All steam trap at engine room eg. Steam sperator, turbine steam chest and bpv must function well with minimum leaks.

3. Right sterilizing setting with suitable boiler LPO setting to avoid frequent make up valve opening.

4. Minimum leak at kernel silo steam traps.

The most effective are when we able to sattle issue no.3 and 1.

With mantaining suitable boiler steam flow we will able to save on boiler fuel.

Other than that steam turbine load also need to be monitor, try to mantain low load by only operating minimum number of equipments, suitable with mill throughput. By reducing 50kw of turbine load we should able to save 2% of boiler fuel.

My mantaining mill throughput we will able to witness more excess fuel at boiler.
